Whilst in London visiting the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition, I decided to make a day of it and travel to the Design Museum and also the Tate Museum. There were two reasons I wanted to visit the design museum: firstly, I am using the curator of this museum, Alice Rawsthorn, in my univeristy essay and wanted a wider look at her museum and herself. Secondly, I had heard of an exhibition currently at the Design Museum called: Women Fashion Power (it's showing until the 26th April 2015). It's a collection of clothing and accessories that offers an unprecedented look at how princesses, models, CEOs, Dames and designers have used fashion to define and enhance their position in the world.

The first female tuxedo by Yves Saint Laurent

With outfits, information and interviews with women such as Lady Gaga, Charlotte Olympia, Diane Von Furstenburg and Dame Vivienne Westwood it's a rare opportunity to learn a lot from these women and how fashion has contributed to their success, if at all.

I found the exhibition so full of life and so inspiring to see so many powerful women collaborate together to share their wisdom within an exhibit. To see all the clothes that have inspired generations to be successful and motivated. It was an uplifting exhibition that I would definately recommend.
