I see patterns everywhere and, knowing we were soon starting a new textile project at uni, I utilised my time in London spent travelling from museum to museum to capture inspiration for textile print ideas. I find beauty in unusual places and can see how things will look when I develop them rather than how they look in their original form right now.
I haven't always seen the world like this, my course has taught me so much about looking at things from a design point of view and training your mind to see things that way.

This was a long day. No joke. Even though I had bought an
unlimited day travel card for the London tubes. I decided to walk everywhere instead. But, if it wasn't for my walking around I wouldn't have captured beautiful images like these or harnessed so much design inspiration.

Even the trees in London scream beauty. I photographed this tree to rework into my textile designs later, the colours, the overlapping effect, the reminder of a reworked camoflage.

< No matter where you find yourself in London, there are always these clasing, colliding shapes and architecture that can be found almost anywhere. I am stood on street level and taking this photo downwards into a basement extension. The crisp lines of the building next to the spiral staircase next to the linear grates.

The London shop displays also offer a good source of inspiration for textile design. Without looking at the actual textiles that are on display I try to look at the companion pieces for my inspiration.

London is a never ending source for inspiration for fashion or for textiles. I find myself here constantly to help every project along, not just the neverending supply of architecture, patterns and diversity but the endless bustle of people and traffic gets me in the mood for designing, exploring and creating
