Today we had to use the same drawing ink technique to apply to our cotton, wool and silk pre-dyed samples.

Me and my friend shared a screen to start with and we divided it into four squares which were roughly the size of our samples. I used a random design of swimming fish and another design which I re used.

The pink design was originally used on my large fabric sheet which I did last week. I decided to use this again on one of my samples and used the same technique of rolling up cardboard to create it.

We then taped our fabric squares to the screen to stop them moving.

We then used the manutex thickening agent to pull over the screen to create our prints.

I did four more of my own next. These turned out really well. Even though I only used blue and purple inks, it came out green and red on the orange and yellow dyed fabric. This is something to bear in mind for later. Next session I will be printing discharge onto these.

I find this technique extremely quick and easy to use and will definitely be using it a lot in the future for sampling. My samples have turned out pretty good aswell, once I have re printed over them and discharged into them I think they will look amazing.
