This session I just concentrated on printing using my screen with the procion dye pastes. I wanted to build my work up so I thought it would be a good idea to spend this week printing, next week discharging and then the following week printing and discharging. I thought this way would be easier to plan and build up my work load ready for my hand in date.

I printed over the six prints I did last week, I did this according to the plan I made after last weeks session. The sample on the left didn’t turn out as it was meant to because I don’t think I pushed down hard enough, therefore, the print appears faded. However, I wouldn’t count this as a failure because now I know how to created a faded print in the future to use in my work.

The same ‘mistake’ happened with the above sample. I didn’t press down hard enough with the screen so it created a faded pattern.

With this sample I applied the blue lines going in the opposite direction to the green shapes. I did this to create a bit more depth and next week I will discharge over this.

I also dyed twelve blank sample that I can re-print over and discharge in the upcoming sessions.

Looking at everyone elses work today I feel like everybody has some really beautiful, unique samples and I don't have any that are even finished yet. So, to conquer this, i have signed up to the Thursday evening session. There will be no tutors there but I can get on with some work and try to create some really beautiful samples.
